Dr. Paige Bourassa’s academic journey began with a focus on Psychology at the University of Colorado Denver, culminating in a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) in New York City, alongside a Master of Science degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Health Sciences in San Diego. Dr. Paige is proud to be licensed to practice acupuncture in both New York and Tennessee.
Additionally, Dr. Paige is a certified Holistic Nutritionist from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in Vancouver, Canada, and a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist from the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She also possesses certifications in Clean Needle Technique by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM), along with training in Craniosacral Therapy from the Upledger Institute.
Specializing in treating pain syndromes, women’s health and fertility, Dr. Paige combines her extensive training with a compassionate approach to provide personalized care. From acupuncture and Chinese medicine to functional medicine nutritional support, she offers comprehensive solutions to each patients individual’s needs on their health journey.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Dr. Paige finds joy in traveling, eating and cooking everything Italian, learning the newest data on health longevity and having adventures with her son Luca and her husband Chris reluctantly in tow.
Sarah C.
Acupuncturist

Sarah has a dedicated focus on women’s health and fertility. She employs evidence-based strategies to support hormonal balance and healthy cycles while addressing key pillars of health including sleep, nutrition and digestion, and emotional wellness. She has supported many women to navigate the joys and challenges of natural conception, IVF, surrogacy, pregnancy and post-partum.
Sarah also has a special interest in treating pain. She understands that acute injury and chronic pain syndromes, including autoimmune and neurological conditions, deteriorate quality of life and happiness. Sarah has performed over 3,000 orthopedic treatments, incorporating cupping, tui na (Chinese massage), electrical stimulation and heat therapies to achieve results.
Outside the clinic, Sarah has a rich background in the arts. She founded and directed a contemporary art gallery in New York’s Chelsea district from 2011-2016. She is a trained classical ballerina and has traveled extensively for dance and culture, including immersions studying flamenco in Spain and bharatnatyam and Ayurveda in India. She has recently relocated to Nashville from the New York area. She loves taking her three daughters to hike Lake Radnor and enjoy bluegrass music.
Skyler L.
Acupuncturist

Skyler approaches care with intention and curiosity, developing individualized treatment plans that often incorporate acupuncture and thoughtfully prescribed Chinese herbal medicine. She frequently works with patients navigating fertility challenges, menstrual irregularities, anxiety, insomnia, and digestive concerns. Her goal is to help patients feel supported, regulated, and informed as they move through their care.
She completed her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine at the Colorado Chinese Medicine University, where she was recognized with the Academic Achievement Award for her graduating class. Prior to her medical training, Skyler earned her undergraduate degree Summa Cum Laude from Belmont University, studying Social Work with a minor in Chemistry. This foundation in social work and trauma-informed care shapes her clinical presence and allows her to meet patients with empathy and steadiness.
Outside of the clinic, Skyler is a professional contemporary ballet dancer and a registered yoga teacher. Her experience in movement and mindfulness informs her understanding of the body and influences the way she supports patients in cultivating awareness, resilience, and balance.
Riley C.
Director of Operations & Patient Experience
Her transition to holistic wellness was inspired by a desire to streamline clinic operations and improve accessibility to integrative care, particularly acupuncture. In her role at Shen Medicine, Riley is focused on providing a space where women feel empowered, supported, and nurtured throughout their wellness journeys.
Beyond her professional expertise, Riley is deeply committed to the mission of making holistic healing more accessible. She believes that feeling heard and supported is vital to the healing process, and she’s proud to contribute to a clinic where patients experience balance, healing, and compassion at every step.
