Why it works

The Benefits of Acupuncture

Hormonal Balance

Acupuncture works with your body’s regulatory systems to support healthy hormone levels at every stage of life from managing your cycle to navigating perimenopause.

Fertility Support

By improving blood flow to reproductive organs and supporting hormonal balance, acupuncture creates optimal conditions for conception whether naturally or alongside IVF and IUI.

Stress & Anxiety Relief

Acupuncture calms the nervous system and helps shift your body out of a constant stress response leaving you feeling more grounded, clear-headed, and at ease.

Pain Relief

By improving circulation, releasing muscle tension, and supporting the body’s natural pain pathways, acupuncture is effective for back pain, headaches, menstrual cramps, and joint discomfort.

Digestive Wellness

Targeted stimulation helps regulate digestive function and reduce inflammation commonly used for bloating, IBS, constipation, and gut-related stress responses.

Improved Sleep

By addressing the underlying imbalances that interfere with rest, acupuncture helps you fall asleep more easily and experience deeper, more restorative sleep cycles.

How Its Work’s

The Science

Nervous System Regulation

Research shows that acupuncture works at three distinct levels simultaneously: at the needle site, it activates immune cells that release natural pain-relieving compounds; at sites of inflammation, it reduces the release of inflammatory proteins that irritate nerve endings; and at the brain and spinal cord level, it quiets overactive pain pathways by reducing excitatory signals while boosting calming ones. In plain terms: acupuncture doesn’t just mask pain — it interrupts the biological chain reaction that creates it in the first place.

Circulation & Muscular/Fascia Healing

Approximately 60 million American adults (24.3% of the population) live with chronic pain, meaning they experience pain on most or every day for three months or longer. A systematic review of randomized controlled trials found that patients with fibromyalgia and muscle pain showed significant increases in blood flow to both skin and muscle tissue following acupuncture. More blood flow means more oxygen, more nutrients, and faster clearance of the metabolic waste that keeps tissues locked in a cycle of tension and pain.

Endorphin & Hormone Release

Studies reveal that acupuncture measurably increases levels of endorphins, beta-endorphin, enkephalin, serotonin, and dopamine in both blood plasma and brain tissue. These rises directly produce pain relief, a calming sedative effect, improved motor function, and a regulatory effect on the immune system. For fertility patients specifically, acupuncture’s effect on beta-endorphin production is thought to influence gonadotropin-releasing hormone, which in turn affects ovulation, menstrual cycle regulation, and fertility outcomes.

Eastern & Western Perspectives + IVF/IUI

Effects of Acupuncture on Pregnancy Outcomes in Women Undergoing IVF” — meta-analysis of 25 RCTs, 4,757 participants, published 2024. This is one of the largest and most rigorous reviews on the topic to date. Across 312 original randomized controlled trials involving over 65,000 participants, acupuncture was found to be superior to sham acupuncture in improving clinical pregnancy rates in IVF, with a 31% relative improvement in likelihood of a confirmed pregnancy. A separate RCT found that acupuncture administered 25 minutes before embryo transfer significantly increased biochemical, clinical, and ongoing pregnancy rates compared to no acupuncture, with statistically significant results across all three measures.

Your Experience

Care From Start to Finish

Your First Visit

85 minutes

Your first appointment begins with a one-on-one conversation about your health history, lifestyle, and current concerns. We look beyond individual symptoms to understand patterns in sleep, digestion, stress, pain, and energy and how these systems interact. This comprehensive intake allows us to create a treatment plan that’s informed, intentional, and tailored specifically to you. Your initial appointment includes acupuncture while you relax on the infrared BioMat, and ends with a clear, actionable plan.

Follow Up Treatment

55 minutes

Each session is customized based on where you are and what your body needs. Fine needles are placed at specific points to encourage balance, circulation, and nervous system regulation often paired with therapies like cupping, gua sha, or Celluma LED light therapy when appropriate. Treatments are deeply calming, giving your body the space it needs to settle and begin restoring balance.

Ongoing Support

Continued care

Acupuncture is most impactful when received consistently. Each session builds on the last, supporting long-term regulation and resilience as your system becomes more balanced. After treatment, you may notice a sense of calm, improved sleep, or subtle shifts over the next day or two. Gentle movement, hydration, and taking it easy helps your body fully absorb the benefits. Your practitioner will adjust your plan as your needs evolve.
